Notifications, and what an iPhone decides on its own

iOS asks whether an application may send notifications, and an answer given quickly during the first run is kept until somebody changes it in the phone's own settings. A device that has been told to stay quiet stays quiet about everything, including anything the trading application would otherwise have put on the lock screen.

Focus modes and silent hours work the same way and are worth checking at the same time. Underneath them sits a second decision: how much of a notification should be readable before the screen is unlocked. That is a question about the handset rather than about the account, which is reached by its own login and keeps its state on the server.

Timing is why any of this matters here. Uzbekistan stays on UTC+5 through the year, so the European session runs across the local afternoon and the American session opens in the evening and continues into the night. Those hours are spent away from a desk by most people, and the phone is the device actually present for them.
