Windows 10 and 11: updates, disk space and the evening session
The first is updating. A desktop terminal checks for its own updates when it starts, so launching it early, before the European session gets going in the local afternoon, turns that into a background event rather than an interruption at an awkward moment. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 install on Windows 10 and 11 as ordinary programs and can sit on the same machine.
The second is disk space. A terminal keeps the price history for the charts it draws, and that grows quietly with use, which is worth knowing on a laptop with a small drive. Old chart data can be cleared from inside the terminal itself, and nothing has to be reinstalled afterwards.
What the desktop earns in return is persistence. Profiles hold a set of instruments and timeframes together, templates apply one indicator arrangement across all of them, and both survive a restart — so an evening session begins with a workspace that is already arranged rather than one rebuilt from scratch.

Desktop app or web on the PC
If you would rather not install a desktop app, the Exness Terminal runs in any browser on the PC with nothing to download. MetaTrader gives more advanced charting and automated trading; the web terminal starts without an install.
